Growing Up

As of his doctor's appt on Friday, Tysen has grown one inch and gained one pound. He is starting to smile regularly and babble a bit. It's so incredible to see the changes!

Poor Baby...

Yesterday we had Tysen circumsized. I know there are heated debates about this - so if you are of the opposite view...please just keep your opinion to yourself. We decided based on our beliefs and I don't feel the need to go into them.
Anyway...it was awful. The actual procedure seemed to go okay - I had to wait in the waiting room while they did it. It was horrible to hear him crying and not be able to comfort him. The doctor said it went well.
Afterwards we went home. He seemed fine...a little sleepy. I had been instructed to check his diaper every hour for the first 24 hours (apparently a baby has died from excessive blood loss - they tell you things like this right before they do it). So I fed him then went to change his diaper. There was soo much blood. I panicked. He was screaming and I was crying and I didn't know what to do. Then he suddently stopped screaming and was sleeping - it was like he had passed out. I was seriously upset at this point. Luckily my good friend called at that moment and she calmed me down. She called the nurses help line and they said to call the doctor's office. Fortunately the doctor was still there (it was after hours at this point) and he said to bring him back to the office. I think I got there in record time - I probably shouldn't have been driving, but Glenn was still at work. The doc checked him and said he would be fine - it looked alright. If the bleeding started again I was to hold his penis tight with my hand and if it didn't stop in 10 mins to take him in again. Luckily it never came to that. Poor Tysen...he seemed to be hurting alot. I gave him Tylenol and he went to sleep. I stayed up all night checking him constantly. By 1am the bleeding had stopped completely. Thank god.
This morning he smiled at me. I think all is right in our world again.

I've got this crying thing figured out...

Today Tysen was rocking in his swing, quietly, when he started crying. Assuming that he had gas or something else was wrong, I picked him up. He immediately stopped crying and, I swear, had a very suspicious grin on his face. I think maybe he's already outsmarting me...
